Gistermorgen is Opa Frans rustig ingeslapen. Precies 2 maanden geleden werd Opa Frans ziek en werd niet lang daarna opgenomen in de Hospice nadat er geconstateerd was dat hij ernstig ziek was, alvleesklier-kanker. Opa heeft in de hospice nog een paar prachtige weken gehad, werd heerlijk verwend en kreeg letterlijk alles wat zijn hartje begeerde. Hij was vastbesloten Kerstmis te halen en dat is 'm gelukt. Na Kerstmis ging het snel en heeft hij een behoorlijke strijd moeten leveren, maar is uiteindelijk heel rustig ingeslapen. Lieve Pa.... rust zacht!

You're right about the hospice I think. From what you said and from watching that one video I think you gave Opa Frans a lot of love and he enjoyed it.

He had a great time in the hospice, all the nurses were so nice and loving! They gave him everything he needed and wanted. He got a good night kiss everynight and was very loved by all the nurses...
Only the last week and a half he was very sick and tired and had to stay in bed. Before that he went to the livingroom 3 times a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and to have a talk to his neighbors. He loved that.
It's sad he isn't there anymore,and we miss him, but as he said himself last week "I had a good life, it's allright!"
